There are two actions that need to happen in order to make a submission:
- Complete a new business application (located on the opportunity)
- Complete the opportunity and submit for approval
These steps are two separate and distinct actions. One cannot be substituted for the other, BOTH must happen.
Complete Submission Process (New Business Only):
- Make sure that the ACCOUNT screen has been updated to include: SIC Codes, Contact information, etc.
- Create a new opportunity in Salesforce on this ACCOUNT.
- Label the new opportunity – example: “Test Company, LLC – P&C $20K”.
- Add products to the opportunity – Include revenue and premium information.
- Complete the various information fields on the opportunity for Producer narrative, Competition, Special instructions
- Include the list of carriers that are currently on risk in the “Markets” section.
- Attach any supporting documents (loss runs, supplemental applications, etc) to the “Notes and Attachments” section.
- Click on “Large Lines App” or “Select App” (whichever is applicable) to complete a new business submission.
- After you complete this application, you will receive a confirmation email with a copy for your records.
- NOTE: YOU ARE STILL NOT DONE AT THIS POINT.
- Go back to the opportunity and click “Submit for Approval” on the opportunity.
- Rick, Marguerite or Maryalice will receive an email notifying them of your approval request.
- After they review, the opportunity will be approved or rejected and you will be notified.
There is no additional information involved in the process than what was required prior to Salesforce. The only changes made were to include much of that information directly on the opportunity. We have moved many sections from the original submission application to the opportunity.
If the information listed above is not included, the people who support you (marketing, select, benefits, etc.) do not have what they need to work on your submissions.
Incomplete submissions will be rejected regardless of whether or not you have completed an application. If you don’t have the information required for marketing or select to work on your submission, we suggest you not submit the opportunity for approval until you do.
