I am pleased to announce Barry Wolf has joined the organization as Executive Vice President (EVP) of Aviation Services.
Barry will be responsible for developing our Aircraft Leasing/Financing and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) insurance portfolio. He will oversee new business account strategy as well as portfolio management with key carrier partners. In addition, he will work closely with our existing Aviation and commercial lines teams.
Barry has over 32 years of insurance risk management experience in commercial aviation. Prior to joining SterlingRisk, Barry was the Insurance Risk Manager for International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), the world’s second largest commercial aircraft leasing company. He was responsible for revising the insurance program while restructuring the staff to create substantial efficiencies and savings. Prior to ILFC, he held the position of an aviation insurance broker specializing in large aviation accounts for commercial aircraft leasing companies, commercial heavy maintenance and overhaul, and aircraft and engine parts resellers. Barry began his aviation carrier in Miami, Florida in 1982 with International Air Leases, Inc. and Arrow Air, Inc and held the position of Risk Manager for the Batchelor Group of Companies.

We are updating our PTO Call in Policy slightly. The definition of Care & Respect in our Values Blueprint is “A passion for supporting our colleagues, partners, clients and community”. This is difficult to do so when our colleagues and clients are unaware of an employee absence. The protocol as of 10/1/14 will be as follows:
Notification of the unplanned absence must be made any time before 8:45 am.
If the Team Leader/Manager is unavailable, then the absent employee must leave a message in the Team Leader/Manager’s voicemail box to report their absence and indicate any pending work issues that need to be handled in their absence. An email is acceptable only if the Team Leader/Manager is unavailable. TEXT messages are not acceptable methods of notification.
The receptionist must also be notified of the absence by the absent employee. The absent employee must call into Reception between 9:15 – 9:30 am. This is extremely important so that the receptionist is aware of the absence when directing client calls. The absent employee should indicate to the receptionist who the back employee will be while they are out of the office. This is extremely important when directing incoming client inquiries.
Absent employees must make sure to change their out of office, both externally and internally to the organization, as well as their voice mail message indicating who their back up contact is. If an absent employee does not have access to email, please advise the Team Leader/Manager so that this can be done for the absent employee.
If you are unable to reach your Team Leader/Manager for any reason regarding your absence, please contact Human Resources and speak with either Donna or Lilian on their direct line.
The absent employee is responsible to enter time out of the office, due to their absence, into Soft Time immediately upon their return to the office.

Several members of the SterlingRisk team traveled to the Dallas Fort Worth airport to visit with the folks from Consolidated Airline Services. While there they were given a tour of CAS’s warehouse and freight handling operations. Part of the tour included seeing how cargo is loaded and unloaded from aircraft that is parked on the ramp.

Our portal for the Flu Shot Clinic being held on October 10th is up and functional. I have personally gone onto the portal and registered my time slot. The process is easy and takes no more than 2 minutes.
You will need to create a login and then you will be brought back to the home page where you will need to then enter your information as a returning user.
The cut off for registration is October 6th, so it’s suggested you register as quickly as possible to ensure you lock in your time of choice.

Important to note…If you cancel your appointment after the 10/6 or are a no show, you will be responsible for the cost of the vaccine. Once the vaccine is ordered and packed for our clinic it cannot be reused. The cost will be $25.00. Please keep your commitment to the time you have selected to be scheduled (care & respect).

The date is set and our flu shot clinic will be held on October 10th, 2014. Those employees who are insured through our Aetna plan will need to bring a copy of the front and back of your insurance card to the clinic. Those who wish to participate that are not insured through our Aetna plan can pay be a personal check made payable to Health Achievers for $25.00. Anyone not providing the above will be turned away on that date. Please bring picture ID.
We will have an online registration portal available for employees to sign up for appointments. The link to the portal will be sent as soon as we are setup in their system
